Talmage Collection

2008 Marsanne

Site

Alder Springs Vineyard is set on a beautiful ranch in the hills west of the town of Laytonville, Mendocino County, California. The rugged terrain & micro-climate combined with meticulous vineyad management employed by Stewart Bewley and his crews result in fruit of the highest quality. We are honored to produce wine from such a prime growing location and excellent farmer.

Vinification

We fermented our 2008 Talmage Marsanne in a combination of new French & American oak. Secondary malo-lactic fermentation was completed on half the lot to produce a more round mouth feel and well balanced wine. Our final blend includes 15% Roussanne from Alder Springs Vineyard. The wine was aged sur lie before bottling enhancing this wines’s complexity. Enjoy!

About Talmage

In reverence to a region that extends east and south amongst the foothills of Ukiah, referred to by locals as Talmage, this collection of wines are intense, barrel-aged beauties and elegant expressions of place. Produced from select high-elevation, small-lot vineyard sites with grapes grown by some the area’s most pioneering viticulturists, each wine’s character reflects a strong commitment to balanced, sustainable farming.
