In 1995 a huge forest fire burned an entire ridge of Ponderosa pines. The Manuel’s survived the fire by soaking their home with water. Afterwards, they consulted with agriculture and viticulture experts and determined that a new life as an organic vineyard would be a wonderful way to start fresh and make use of the deep, well-drained soils and the ideal climate of hot days and cool nights. The soil, a rich mix of ancient sediments, decomposed granite and organic matter, is especially suited to producing incredible Cabernet Sauvingnon.
