A Tribute to Julia Childs – Movie Night at Campovida

Join us for a casual evening of outdoor cinema under the arbor at Campovida. Please feel free to bring your own picnic. Wine will be available for purchase at the Magnanimus Tasting Bar & Art Gallery. It may be cool so please dress warm, bring blankets and low seated chairs. Popcorn is on us! In 1949, Julia Child is in Paris, the wife of a diplomat, wondering how to spend her days. She tries hat making, bridge, and then cooking lessons at Cordon Bleu. There she discovers her passion. In 2002, Julie Powell, about to turn 30 and underemployed with an unpublished novel, decides to cook her way through “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” in a year and to blog about it. We go back and forth between these stories of two women learning to cook and finding success. Sympathetic, loving husbands support them both, and friendships, too, add zest.

Campovida Ribbon Cutting

We will be formally opening Campovida for our private clients and guests beginning on September 9, 2010. Please join us for our ribbon cutting ceremony from 5:30-7:30. Local representatives of the Chamber of Commerce will be here to welcome us into the community and we will be offering a special early evening wine tasting and garden tours

Gala on the Green – Mendocino College Fundraiser

“Gala on the Green,” an annual fundraiser to benefit Mendocino College students and programs, is scheduled for September 11 at Campovida (formerly Fetzer Vineyards Valley Oaks Food and Wine Center), 13601 Old River Road, Hopland. The Gala begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be preceded by optional tours of the Campovida gardens between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Presented by the Mendocino College Foundation, the event features dinner, wine, auctions, and music.

Tickets for the event are $85 per person. Tables, with seating for eight people each, may be reserved for $680. Additional information about tickets and table reservations will soon be available on the Foundation’s website, http://foundation.mendocino.edu.

Proceeds from the event are used to fund scholarships for students and provide support for College programs as recommended by the administrators. Last year’s Gala on the Green raised more than $30,000 for scholarships and educational programs.

1st Annual Harvest Party
